Brad Hooper
The Low Down

Brad Hooper, dubbed Sir Crampston Squintwood III, at the coming of age, was born in Omaha, NE and raised just outside Chicago. He moved to Maine in 1980 where most of his relatives hailed from. The "P's" bought the Village Store in Bryant Pond, ME and did their best to save the last crank phone system in the US. It was great to come "home."
Music and performing is engrained in the family tree. All his kids play instruments. (Maybe a family band is lurking out there someplace?) His earliest recollection of singing is when his brother and he had bunk beds. Brad would lay in bed with his finger in the air like the stem of a turntable and Jeff would pick the next song. He would sing requests until they both fell asleep. (He now does the same with his grandson.)
Jimmy Green "Spoons", who the album is dedicated to, was one of the best harmonica players to grace the face of the earth. Spoons told Brad one day that he should "play from the heart, forget all the flash. Those who cared would nurture and care for his heart; those that didn't would teach him to know the difference." Brad has lived that way ever since.
Peace.
